Less competitive universities in Nigeria that gives admission easily: Apparently, gaining admission into any university in Nigeria is not an easy task. Over the year, We have noticed that it is only students who are very sound in academics can gain admission into any university in Nigeria. The reason for this is because, every university wants to make sure that they admit students who are both mentally and academically capable of facing the ups and downs associated with living a good university life.

There are only few universities in Nigeria where you can still gain admission without much stress. Don’t not get me wrong, i don’t mean that these universities are not also stressful. The point i am trying to make known is that, these universities are less competitive and even easier to gain admission into.

Having known this, I will now make a list of the less competitive universities in Nigeria that offer admission easily. If you are a student in Nigeria or abroad and you really want to gain admission in Nigeria, these are the universities you might want to apply for this year.

LESS COMPETITIVE UNIVERSITIES THAT OFFER ADMISSION EASILY IN NIGERIA

Below are some of the less competitive universities in Nigeria you should attend:

But for now, these are the universities i can really say are less competitive and easier to gain admission. In other words, if you apply for admission in these universities, your chances of gaining admission is very high.

Why these universities are less competitive

Now, you may be asking, why is it easier to gain admission into the universities mentioned above? Well, there are many reasons why these universities are the easiest. Below are few of the reasons:

They have less number of aspirants:

The basic reason why the universities mentioned above are less competitive is because they have less number of aspirants. Thus, the university are even looking for more students. One of the mistakes many students make is to apply for admission in those top universities in Nigeria. Well, there is nothing wrong applying for admission in schools like UNN, UI, UNILAG or OAU. But the truth is that if you are not very sound academically, then you can’t gain admission into those schools. So, if you are not good enough, why don’t you apply for a school that will give you admission easily.

Their departmental cutoff marks are low:

Another reason why it is easier to gain admission into the schools I just mentioned is because, their cutoff marks are very low. Thus, students with low cutoff can still gain admission via the university’s merit list. In my view, these are the best universities for students who are unable to meet the required cutoff marks for their courses in other schools.

Having known this, i will now give brief information about each of the universities i mentioned above. Here we go:

Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State:

Federal University Dutsin-Ma is one of the less competitive universities in Nigeria that gives admission easily. The university was established under the administration of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in February 2011. According to Wikipedia, the New Acting Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State is Adamu Ncahama Baba-Kutigi. Trust me, if you really want to apply for admission in a place where there is 70% chance of gaining admission, then you have to apply for admission in the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma. It is pertinent to note that this university is a federal university so they accept application from every part of Nigeria.

Ebonyi State University (EBSU):

Location: Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Nigeria

Ebonyi State University (EBSU) is also one of the best universities in Nigeria. Students who are currently studying in EBSU can attest to the fact that EBSU is easier when it comes to gaining admission. In fact, last year (2019) while other universities where conducting Post UTME examination for aspirants before giving them admission, Ebony State University (EBSU) didn’t conduct screening for aspirants. They only gave admission based on the JAMB results and WAEC/NECO results submitted by aspirants. Trust me, this university is also a good choice for students who want to gain admission in any of the best state universities in Nigeria.

Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT)

Evidently, ESUT is one of the best universities you can gain admission easily in Nigeria. The university has the least number of students who apply for admission every year. Thus, if you are looking for a university you can gain admission with an average score in JAMB examination, you can apply for this university. As long as your score is reasonable good, I assure you that you will gain admission in Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).

Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina

Many people speculate that the reason why Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina is very easy and less competitive is because it was recently created (2006).

That notwithstanding, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University is still one of the best universities in Nigeria. In fact, you cannot mention the top 10 universities in the Northern part of Nigeria without mentioning Umaru Musa Yar’adua University. So you see, it one of the best and also among the easiest for admission. You can give this university a try.

Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State (FUGUS)

Federal University Gusau is apparently one of the less competitive universities in Nigeria that gives admission easily. The University is also known by the acronym FUGUS. I personally recommend this university for every student. It is a federal university so you don’t need to panic on the issue as to whether the university will admit you considering the state you are coming from. All you need to do is to apply and do your best in JAMB UTME screening. I assure you that you will be offered admission into this school.

Federal University Of Petroleum Resources, Effurun

Okay, you want to study Petroleum Engineering but you can’t reach the departmental cutoff mark of any of the top universities in Nigeria. We think it is high time you start thinking right. Federal University Of Petroleum Resources, Effurun is, by far, the best university you can study Petroleum engineering in Nigeria. The university was established in March 2007 as the one of the main universities for growing students in the that field of engineering.

No doubt, Federal University Of Petroleum Resources, Effurun is among the easiest universities for admission. Note that this university does not allow every course. So before applying for admission here, please make sure that the course you are applying for is offered in the university. Federal University, Ndufu-Alike:

Even though it is not among the most popular universities in Nigeria currently, it is among the most prestigious universities in Nigeria today. So, if you want to apply for admission in a school that will most likely give give you admission this 2023, then you should apply for admission in Federal University, Ndufu-Alike.

Apparently, the reason why Federal University, Dutse is less competitive is because the university was recently established in Nigeria. We strongly believe that with time, this university will grow to become one of the best universities in Nigeria.

Nevertheless, if you are searching for a university where it is relatively easy to gain admission, then you should apply in this prestigious university. Trust me; as long as a have a good score in JAMB UTME screening, you will be admitted. All you need to do is to make this university your first choice. Indeed, Federal University, Dutse is one of the less competitive universities in Nigeria that gives admission easily.

Federal University, Oye-Ekiti

One striking thing about this university is that, they teach very well.

In light of this, you need no one to tell you that Federal University, Oye-Ekiti is one of the ideal universities in Nigeria for students who want to gain admission without too much stress. Don’t worry if you are not from Ekiti state. This university is a federal university so you don’t need to be from Ekiti state.

Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi

The last but not the least university on my list today is Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK). This university is the first choice of thousands of students in Ekiti state, Nigeria. It will surprise you to know that Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) was established under the leadership of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, in line with the policy of the Government for establishing a Federal University in states that did not have one across the federation. It is the only federal university in Ekiti state.

Currently, Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) is one of the less competitive universities in Nigeria that gives admission easily. We are sure that this university will soon become a “hard-to-get” university because of the efforts of the university’s management towards the growth of the university. However, for now, i can say that this university is an ideal university for students who did not meet the required cutoff marks for their courses in any of the competitive universities in Nigeria.

But when you compare the stress of gaining admission into these universities with other universities, it is clear that these universities are much more easier to gain admission in Nigeria.
