However, the registration date has been announced by the JAMB registration.

When Will JAMB 2023/2024 Registration Start

According to the JAMB registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede at a stakeholders’ meeting on Monday 23rd of December, 2019 in Abuja, JAMB 2023 registration will begin on January 13, 2023 and end on February 17, 2023.

How Much Is JAMB 2023/2024 Form

JAMB registration form price has been reduced to Three thousand, five hundred naira only(#3,500).

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has explained the reason why the cost of Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) form was reduced.

The Board said the registration fee was reduced to in order to alleviate the burden of the cost of the examination on parents.

The Board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin said this in a statement on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, while reacting to the reduction announced by the Federal Government.

The 2023 UTME exercise will hold between March 14, 2023 and April 4, 2023 at various JAMB accredited centres nationwide.

What You Need For JAMB 2023 Registration

1. National Identification Number (NIN)

JAMB Registrar has announced that all candidates who wish to register for the 2023 UTME must obtain their National Identification Number (NIN).

According to him, the board is bringing in the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), as directed by the National Assembly and Federal Executive Council, to conduct the 2023 UTME.

Prospective candidates, have therefore been urged to approach any NIMC enrollment centre to obtain the National Identification Number (NIN) to enable them register for the examinations.

He further stated, “Everybody must rise up and support NIMC. We are also bringing in Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) to help in monitoring the Computer Based Centres (CBT).

“We also have the advantage of the Galaxy Backbone. Each of the CBT centres has been mapped with NIMC enrollment centres.

“Meanwhile, over 40 per cent of the candidates have already obtained their NIN.

“This will ease our job because those who have not been able to register can now be transported to NIMC centres at the point of registration,’’ the Jamb boss said.

The registrar also said the importance of a candidate registering with NIN was to eliminate multiple registration which was a problem during the 2019 registrations.(NAN)

How To Register For JAMB 2023/2021

1. Create a JAMB profile and take note of the profile code sent to you.

HOW TO CREATE JAMB PROFILE 2023/2021

Creating JAMB Profile enables a candidate’s information to be stored in JAMB Database and allows for easy registration. The following information below are very important concerning JAMB Profile Creation.

• One Cell (mobile) number can be used by one candidate The Cell phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2019 Application/Examination.
• Candidate sends his/her name [Surname First-Name Middle-Name (if any)] by text (SMS) to This should be maximum of 38 characters + 2 spaces between names = 40 characters in all to 55019 e.g Soneye Saheed Temitayo  (Surname and first name are mandatory)
• A Profile Code of 10 characters is received by the candidate on the same telephone number

HOW TO CORRECT JAMB PROFILE NAME

Should you make any mistake and want to correct the error in candidate’s name, send the [CORRECT Surname First-Name Middle-Name] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number with which you registered from.

2. Pay for JAMB E-PIN with your JAMB profile code and NIN.

This payment can be done at JAMB accredited centres, approved banks and NIPOST.

To Start your registration, you need to buy JAMB E-Pin which replaced the Scratch Card system previously used by JAMB. The points or location where one can buy 2023 JAMB E-Pins are as follows:

DUTIES OF PARTICIPATING BANKS/OUTLETS

• Collect the Profile Code from candidate’s phone
• Collect payment and vend ePIN by SMS to candidate’s phone
• Facilitate POS Payment, if necessary
• Issue Evidence of Payment
• Collect Centre Service Fees, if requested by the CBT Centre

HOW TO RECOVER LOST ePIN AFTER PAYMENT

I.       If ePIN is not Received or Lost, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 for UTME or  DE respectively from the unique number

ii.      The ePIN would then be retrieved and delivered on the candidate’s unique number

Note: AFTER SUCCESSFUL PAYMENT AND OBTAINING ePIN, CANDIDATE SHOULD PROCEED TO ANY OF THE JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES TO COMPLETE HIS/HER REGISTRATION

3. Proceed to JAMB accredited centres to fill your JAMB form online

After you must have obtained your NIN from any of the enrolment centres, you can now proceed to JAMB accredited centres to fill JAMB form and complete your JAMB 2023/2024 registration.

HOW TO REGISTER COMPLETE JAMB REGISTRATION AT CBT CENTRES

The candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for completion of registration. The name of the candidate as typed by the candidate on his/her phone when registering the profile comes up automatically on the input of the e-PIN by the CBT centre

Candidates are to:

i.      Pay NOT more than N700 as Service Charge to the CBT Centre

ii.     Provide Biodata including Date of Birth, Nationality, State of Origin, Local Government, Gender, e-mail address, among others

iii.     Provide choice of institutions and programmes (disciplines)

iv.    Provide qualification with grades and dates, if not awaiting result

v.     Upload relevant certificates, if not awaiting result

vi.    O/L and or A/L grades are to be provided by candidates. Candidates who are awaiting results should supply the results online as soon as they are available on JAMB’s portal. No recommendations from any Institution will be considered by JAMB if the candidate has not supplied his/her result on the portal of JAMB

vii.    Supply JAMB registration number for previous institutional certificates for DE only

viii.   Provide UTME subjects and choice of examination town(s) for

(a)     Mock examination  (optional)

(b)     Examination for UTME (actual examination)

ix.      Do picture capture (no scanning of passport photograph)

x.      Do Biometric enrolment (ten fingers)

xi.      Review entries and confirm correctness

xii.     Print Registration Slip USING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION

xiii.    Collect, at no other cost, the reading text and CD

xiv.   Each Candidate is to collect his/her e-slip at the end of registration as evidence of registration

xv.    There will be no offline registration, as all the accredited CBT centres have been empowered for real time online registration.

No candidate should register at any centre other than the accredited CBT centre and JAMB State offices.

Any candidate who is registered outside approved centres will be identified and disqualified.

After you complete your registration, the CBT centre will provide for you (at no extra cost) the prescribed reading text and the CD containing e-brochure, Syllabus (e-syllabus) for the examination).

Can I Register For JAMB 2023 With The Same Email I Used In 2019

Yes, but We will advise you to use another email address.

If you sat for JAMB last year and you are given a course you don’t like but you decided to go for the course while you re-apply with JAMB 2023, then you should register with another email address.

If you use the same email address with 2019 JAMB profile, then problem may arise.

What if you want to login to your JAMB 2019 to print your admission letter or do other things and the same email is attached to your 2023 JAMB profile.

You can also imagine a situation where you want to check your name on JAMB matriculation list portal with your email address with two profiles attached?

So, We will advise you create another email address for 2023 registration. Also, don’t allow anyone to register JAMB 2023 for you with their own email address.

Can I Register JAMB 2023 With Same Phone Number In 2023

According to JAMB, previously used numbers for JAMB Registrations can only be re-used by the same candidate who used it in 2019 (Not another candidate).

Previously Used Number is a GSM Telephone Number (SIM) used for Profile Code Creation, e-PIN

Vending and Registration in Previous Registration Exercises.

This can be used for the 2023 Registration ONLY BY THE SAME CANDIDATE.

The Candidate who is using his/her previous number for the second or third time will use the same

profile code to purchase the new e-PIN.

If the Profile Code has been forgotten, the candidate can send RESEND to 55019 and he/she would

recover the Old Profile Code.

• 3 Easy Ways To Retrieve Your JAMB Profile Code

In other words, the Old Profile Code can be used by the same candidate to procure the new e-PIN. No

new profile code is required.

However, Candidate cannot change names by using CORRECT on this existing number as this Profile is

already tied to the existing number (typically done before Registration).

Can I Register For JAMB 2023/2024 With 2019 JAMB Profile

Candidate can register at any JAMB CBT Center with existing Profile (e-Mail, Telephone Number, Profile

code) which cannot be changed.

Existing Profile or already used number cannot be transferred to another candidate. 

When Is JAMB Registration 2023/2024 Closing

JAMB 2023/2024 registration form will close on February 17, 2023.

This is according to the JAMB registrar when speaking on how the registration process will go in 2023.

Chairman of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe has urged candidates planning to take the 2023 UTME to register now while there is no pressure at the Centres.

Speaking on extending the registration deadline, he said “I don’t foresee an extension. We have to stick to the date we have given to the public. If we start now thinking about extension, it doesn’t portray our seriousness.

“Some of the places we visited had many systems but few candidates. Let the candidates out there be mindful of the examination dates. I don’t foresee any extension of dates,” he said.

Can I Register For JAMB 2023/2024 With Awaiting Result

Definitely! You can register for JAMB 2023/2024 with awaiting result. If you are sitting for the coming WAEC/NECO examination or your WAEC GCE 2018 result has not been released, you can still register for JAMB. 

Is It Compulsory To Write JAMB Mock 2023/2021

No, JAMB mock 2023/2024 is not compulsory.

If you don’t sit for the mock examination, you will be allowed to write the real examination.

The mock examination is just to help you test how prepared you are for the upcoming examination.

It is not compulsory and you won’t get additional marks in your real examination for sitting for the mock.

Can I Register For JAMB 2023/2024 In SS1

SS1 students in various secondary schools in Nigeria may not be allowed to register for JAMB 2023.

Oloyede said, “It is difficult to say the exact number of applicants we are expecting this time. We expect to crash the number because many of those who are taking the forms are not even prepared or qualified for the exam”.

“Some are SS1 students, who are just trying, contributing N5,000 unduly to our purse. We are putting in some checks to make people who want to apply to be minimally qualified”.

“We are not interested in the money. We are interested in having adequate preparations for those who are genuine students.”

JAMB REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR FOREIGN CANDIDATES.

Procedure for the eight foreign centres only is as follows:

• Registration fee for candidates from the eight foreign countries is $20 or its equivalent in each of the eight countries.
• Candidates from the eight foreign countries are to download the Application from the Board’s website (www.jamb.gov.ng) complete and submit it with the fee at the eight designated centres as indicated on the website.
